Plain-English summary: paid plans are activated by a signed license key we email you. It works offline, forever, on up to 3 devices you personally use. No account, no phone-home — your purchase email is the only thing that identifies the license, and it's how we recover a lost key. The Free plan needs no key at all.

1. The license grant

Subject to the Terms of Service, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Pocket for your own personal or household finances. The Free plan requires no key and may be used indefinitely. Paid plans unlock premium features for the period (or lifetime) you purchased.

2. How activation works

After purchase, we email a cryptographically signed license key to your purchase address. Enter it once in the app; it validates offline — no account, no activation server, no internet required.
Before any key, every new installation includes a 14-day full-featured trial. When it ends, the app continues on the Free plan; nothing is deleted or locked.
Keep your key with your records. If you lose it, email us from your purchase address and we will reissue it. The purchase email is the only proof of ownership, so keep access to that mailbox.

3. Devices and household use

A personal license may be activated on up to 3 devices that you personally own and use, plus the companion phone experience served from those devices. Reinstalling on the same or a replacement device is always allowed.
Your license covers the app's built-in household tracking (recording family members' finances inside your own installation).
Separate people running their own installations need their own licenses — or one Family plan (up to 6 members of one household) once it is available.

4. What "lifetime" means

The lifetime plan is a perpetual license: the application and all core features, for as long as you wish to run it, with no renewals.
It includes updates while Pocket is actively developed. If development ever ceased, the last version you received keeps working offline forever — by design, nothing about the app depends on our existence.
On-device AI is included permanently. Optional hosted AI (if enabled) is subject to a generous personal fair-use allowance; we may rate-limit extreme usage rather than charge surprise fees.
"Lifetime" refers to the product's supported lifetime as defined here — your data, separately, is yours forever on every plan, including Free.

5. What you may not do

Publish, share, resell or rent license keys, or activate one key for multiple people.
Circumvent, remove or tamper with license validation, or distribute tools that do.
Redistribute the application package itself — point people to the official download instead.

6. Deactivation

A key is deactivated when its purchase is refunded, or for material breach of these terms (for example, public key sharing). Deactivation returns the app to the Free plan; it never touches the data on your device.

7. Version entitlement

Subscription plans include all updates released while the subscription is active; when it ends, you keep using the last version you were entitled to, on the Free plan or with previously purchased entitlements. Update entitlements for one-time purchases are stated at purchase.
