Terms of Service
1. Agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Pocket, an independent, India-based software product ("we", "us"). The registered operating entity will be named here before paid launch. By downloading, installing or using the Pocket application, or by purchasing a plan, you accept these terms together with the Privacy Policy, Refund Policy and License Terms, which form part of this agreement. If you do not accept them, do not use the software.
2. The product, and its current status
Pocket is a local-first personal finance application: it tracks, organises, analyses and projects the financial information you put into it, on your own device. Pocket is currently in early access: the Windows build is distributed on request, other platforms are in development, and features may change between releases.
3. Not financial advice
Pocket is an educational planning tool. It is not registered with SEBI or any other regulator as an investment adviser, and nothing it produces — scores, projections, probabilities, recommendations, tax estimates, AI answers — constitutes investment, tax, legal or insurance advice.
- Projections and probabilities are illustrative models computed from your inputs and editable assumptions. Real outcomes will differ.
- Market data comes from public feeds and may be delayed, incomplete or unavailable. Pocket shows a price's age rather than guessing, but you should not treat displayed prices as tradable quotes.
- Tax calculations reflect the rules built into your app version for a given financial year and the figures you entered. Verify any filing or investment decision with a qualified professional.
- Pocket never holds, moves or transacts real money, and cannot execute trades.
You are solely responsible for your financial decisions.
4. AI features
Pocket's intelligence runs on your device and generates output from your data combined with built-in financial models and assumptions. AI output can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Treat it as a starting point for your own judgement, not as a directive. Any optional hosted AI feature is off by default, is described where you enable it, and is subject to fair-use limits described in the License Terms.
5. Plans, payments and cancellation
- Current plans and prices are listed on the pricing page. Prices may change; changes never apply retroactively to an already-paid period or to a lifetime purchase.
- Payments are processed by a third-party payment processor under its own terms. Applicable taxes may be added at checkout.
- Subscriptions renew for the period you chose until cancelled. You may cancel at any time; premium features remain active until the end of the paid period, after which the app returns to the Free plan.
- The Free plan is permanent: whatever happens to your subscription, you keep the app, your data stays readable and editable on your device, and CSV export always works. We never hold your data hostage.
- Refunds are governed by the Refund Policy (30 days).
6. Your data and your responsibilities
- Your financial data is stored on your device and remains yours. We cannot access, restore or recover it — which also means backups are your responsibility. Pocket provides encrypted backup tools; please use them.
- The document vault encrypts files with a passphrase only you know. A lost vault passphrase is unrecoverable by design.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter and for securing the devices you run Pocket on.
7. Acceptable use
You may not: share or publish license keys; circumvent or remove licensing checks; redistribute, resell or rent the application; use the software to violate any law; or misrepresent Pocket output as professional financial advice to third parties. Reverse engineering is permitted only to the extent a right to do so cannot be excluded under applicable law.
8. Updates and support
Update entitlements depend on your plan and are stated at purchase. Support is provided by email, at the address on our Contact page, on a reasonable-efforts basis; paid plans receive priority. We may discontinue optional online conveniences (such as market-price feeds) if the underlying public services become unavailable — the core, offline application will keep working.
9. Warranty disclaimer and liability
The software is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the software or these terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for financial decisions you make. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under applicable consumer protection law that cannot be contractually excluded.
10. Termination
We may terminate or suspend a license for material breach of these terms (for example, key sharing or piracy), and keys are deactivated when a purchase is refunded. Termination never affects the data on your device, which remains yours and exportable.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Pune, Maharashtra have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any non-excludable consumer rights in your place of residence.
12. Changes and contact
We may update these terms; the current version with its effective date always lives at this address, and material changes will be noted on the download page. Questions: write to the address on our Contact page.
